18th Monday
Moved at 8 oclock this morning on the Winchester pike. Passed through the town of Hamilton and Perceyville and _____. Camped on the mountain in _____. _____ at eight oclock PM. A part of General ____ force crossed the Shanadoah river and was driven back. Our brigade was under artillery fire and lost two men killed and several wounded. There was two or three union flags waving in Hamilton.
