16th Saturday
Around eight this morning we passed through ____ and on to _____ where we waded the river. The troops crossed at noon and the train about three oclock. Crossed the canal just above the ford. There was one wagon and ____ fell into the lock of the canal. When we first came to the river, the rebel cavalry were on the opposite side. We soon got a battery in position and shelled them away. Passed through Leesburgh at six oclock PM and parked about three miles from the town. Clear and very warm today.
