July 12th Tuesday
Entered the mouth of the Potomac about daylight. This morning we ____ ____ that left city point. The afternoon before we left we parked every boat on the river except the John Brooks. There was one boat that raced us from the mouth of the potomac to alexandria. Sometimes we was so close that we could shake hands from the boat to the other. Arrived at washington at eleven oclock. Disembarked at half past twelve. Had wagon all ready to load the luggage. ____ wagon to load commissary store. Loaded at the ward at foot of G. Street. Had a very pleasant
