12th Tuesday (continued)
Shower in the afternoon. I was out in all of it and got wet through. The brigade marched out seventh street to fort massachusetts. The rebels are about a mile in front of the fort. They ____ one shell about dark. The second division made a charge and drove the rebels back. Issued three days pork + light rations. Our regiment signed the pay rolls and expect to be paid tomorrow. The president and lady was out here and _____ the charge this afternoon
