News at three and arrived at ____ Monroe at oclock. Saw where the Merrimac and _____ had the fight. Saw the graves of the sailors. Also saw the _____. Stopped at fortress(?) Monroes to get a night. ____ up the Potomac but could not get any, only stopped fifteen ____ and then stated on ____ on the after deck. The weather has been very hot today.
