July 11th Monday
Laid at the landing all night and commenced loading at eight in the morning and started at nine. The headquarter and the fifteenth Regt. with all of the ____ and baggage are on the _____ state _____ _____ _____ ____. Passed the rebel Ram Atlanta taken by our force some time ago. Also ____ several gunboats and as we went by them the men gave their cheer and the band played Hail Columbia. The sailor all run aloft and to the cheer heartily. It is a splendid ______ along the river. Had dinner on board the boat. ____ ____ _____ ____ Landing at ten oclock. Newport
