July 1864 1st Friday
The corps did not come in last night. This morning the headquarter wagon was sent ____ to go out to the corps. They are about three miles out on the plank road. The supply wagon went out and got there about noon. Got through issuing and started for home at four. I had to issue to the 1st ____ cav. on the road about one mile from the brigade. It is awful hot and mighty dusty. Got in park at eight oclock. Order to move at five in the morning.
