June 23rd Thursday
Issued about one oclock PM. Started for the park at half past two. Arrived then at seven PM. The heat was very intense today and so dusty that it is hard to breathe. Had whiskey, flour, ham, and pickles(?) today for the salon. Received a letter from WM. Wewey(?) and Johnny ____. Am almost tired out. Have to go front tomorrow with two days rations. Have soft bread for an issue. Saw ___ Meade today.
