20th Friday
Clear and very warm today. Sent a days ration to the front. Had orders to hook up at daylight this morning. Unhooked again at 9 oclock. Eleven(?) corps got around our right yesterday and made a dash on the supply trains but did not get any. They was driven back with heavy ____. We look five hundred prisoners who say that they attacked our train for the purpose of getting some rations. But they got fooled handsomely. It is said that official orders was read to the troops today of the capture of Richmond by Genl. Butler.
