ordered to the front to
day with four days
rations. Started about
one oclock. passed
through Currantown (Kernstown ?)
Newtown Middletown
parked and fed the team
before we got to Strausberg (Strasburg)
There was a heavy fight
this afternoon beyond
Strausberg (sic)1. Our Army
driving the rebels across
the mountain capt ur1. ng
sixteen pieces of artillery
and a great many
prisoners.2 The sixth and
nineteenth corps are following
the rebels. we are to
follow with the train passed through
Strausberg at eight PM

1.Battle of Fisher's
2. Union pursuit continued for four miles
Early could rally. "Early put his losses
1235, including almost 1000 men missing,
guns and numerous small arms." The Civil
