21st Wensday
clear and very pleasant
passed through charlestown
Smithfield, Brucetown
and winchester parking
about half a mile from the
latter place. the teams
was not unhooked from
Eight last last until
five this afternoon and was
going all the time.
Saw two or three thousand
rebel prisoners* in the town
besides a great lot of wounded
the ladies of the town
was carrying eatables in
large quantities to the prisoners
Some of the wounded from
our brigade say it is cut
up very badly
