10th Wensday (sic)
Clear and awful hot the troops moved at five this morning. the train oved across the road about one hundred yards had just unhooked when order came to move about a quarter of a mile nearer the river and near ("Walltown" crossed out) Bolivar. Our headquarters are on bolivar heights. At night went a bathing in the potomac. This afternoon heard some rumbling noise which some took for cannonading and others for thunder. Some aloud (?) in the sky at the time (?)
