31st Sunday
The train stood in the
road all night. and
started at daylight this
rnoning (sic). Camped and
drew stores at Sandy
Hook. Just got loaded
as the rest of the train
carne along. went on
the mountain and
parked. It is said
that we will stay here
two or three days
reported that the rebs
are in pennsylvania
and Grant has crossed
the James River
Went and had a good
wash. Needed so much
understand there will be
no train with the troops now
