30th Saturday
ordered back to ,iddleton
I took all of our empty
wagons. ahead to the ferry to
draw stores but could not
get any. have to go to Sandy
hook. the town is so full
that it is alrnsot impossible
to (get) through. the heat is
very oppressive and a great
many men and officers are
falling in the ranks
Troops and artillery
are crossing now
do not think the
train will get across
before morning
