5th, Friday. Clear and very pleasant today. Nothing to issue today. Supply train went to the station and got soft bread and pcikles. Was in the office all day , receiving orders. 6th, Saturday. Cloudy with very light rain about three oclock this morning. The regiments received orders to be ready to march at a moments notice. I was up at five oclock issuing rations got through about ten oclock. We did not get any orders to move the train. Could hear heavy artillery firing all day in the direction of Germana Ford.
