Cloudy and misty today. No rain. Went over to the regiment. Stopped
at headquarters and at Wm. Cookes who received a commission last night
as first lieutenant and quartermaster of the 4th Regt. Got back about
dark. received three ledgers by mail from Madison. Wrote a letter to
Uncle Sam.
