Dec. 21st. Monday. Clear but very cold today. Issued two days rations. Business not very brisk. It is very dull. Bought a five pound of Kitickmimack tobacco for three dollars. Bought a twenty shilling gold piece and some silver off an old farmer. Wrote a letter to mother.
22nd, Tuesday. Clear and quite cold. No news except that reenlisting is quite lively. There is nearly three hundred of the fourth regt. It is expected that they will go horne as a regt on Saturday. They have thirty days furlough.
