30th, Monday It was very cold last night. Clear but cold today. The third train went to the front yesterday but came back today. Capt. Smith and Quartermaster Emmerson, Easton and Gilman went out oo the front today. They say that our troops have moved about three miles to the right of where they laid when we was up with rations. Gaston's horse died as soon as he got back to the park. He died from over exertion. The guerillas did not attack as we expected last night.
