we heard very heavy and rapid
cannonading all the afternoon
It sounded as though it was on
Manassas Plains. While we was
on the centerville heights we could
see the flash and smoke of the
gun. there was a signal
station on the heights. I did
not go into centerville. as we left
that place about half a mile to
our right. the first and second
Corps have been encamped
about here. It is very ____
here as we had to go to full mile
after good water and as far for
wood for to cook with
