17th Saturday

Rained very hard last night

came near drowning us all out

started to the front with two

days rations about ten a.m.

got out there and issued

did not get back until dark
while we was out there
there was a rumor came in that
all of the pickets along the road
when we came back there was
two regiments of cavalry to escort
us. While we was again the park was moved about a half
a mile toward venterville.
Miller went to the station last
night after supplies and did not get back until this morning
Capt Fifth and quatermaster
Sayre came near being captured
today. Drew a barrel of ___
and sold them to the officers.
