13tr., Tuesday Was walked up about one oclock and ordered to get ready to travel got strated about two oclock. Just after we got started we heard a great deal of firing just on our rear. It is thought that some rebel cavalry had got through the lines and are trying to cut off the wagon train. went very slow at first but soon got to going on a trot which was kept up until we reached warrenton Junction which was about five oclock. we parked on the banks of the cedar run close by the railroad. During the day we had ordered to issue four days rations. about tvm oclock PM were ordered to pack up and be ready to move. I did not get started. This time at five PM the team was ordered to unhitch and water and feed. after they got through eating they hooked up again but did not get started until about
