9th Friday Clear and pleasant today last night was very cold there was quite a heavy frost this morning I drew more fresh bread at the depot In the afternoon went out to Mitchell Station again. It is about five miles from here. a good road and a pleasant ride. there was a great lot of clothing taken out and issued today. there is a good many of our brigade reenlisting for three years or during the war belonging to the 4th regiment was shot today in the presence of the whole division his name was Connally he belonged to Co. H I did not see him shot. *Private Joseph Connelly deserted 8/7/62; returned to duty 3/3/63. Deserted again 7/2/63 on march to Gettysburg. Arrested 9/5/63 and shot 10/9/63.
