Clear and very hot . Was up at three o'clock this morning went to the regiment found they were not ready to go yet so I went back to Di v. Hd Q' s. Started between 5 and six a.m. (During last night our boys rallied on the sutler took everything he had) arrived in Washington about ei ght o ' clock marched to the depot and laid until twelve m. when we got on the cars and started at half past twelve. We had a train of nearly ___ cars. Arrived in Baltimore at 4 p .m. left at five o'clock ___ twenty five ___ . I got my horse and Capt. Fit ts horse on the cars and telegraphed to Capt. about it after we left Baltimore I went to sleep and slept until we arrived at Havre de Grace . and from.
