June 24 Saturday
There to Wilmington and from there to Philadelphia. When we arrived at four this morning. Had Breakfast in ___ ___ Rest. Was ferried ___ to Camden. Took the Camden and Amboy Railroad and arrived in trenton about eleven o'clock was put in Trenton Barracks went in town to a collation prepared by the ladi es. After that to the state house was received by the governor Had a good dinner. Speeches was made by the governor . Sec. of State and Genl. Penrose[.] Marched out to the barracks again. Went to the state prison saw Chris Townsend. Put my horse in the barrack stable.
