May 16 Tuesday
Clear and pleasant. Issued two days Rations. Order to move tomorrow. Have to march to Richmond.
May 17 Wednesday
Clear and very hot. Moved at half past nine a.m. passed through Nottoway, Wellville and camped at Wilson Station marched nearly thirty miles[.] The General + staff came down on the cars. This is the longest march that the wagon train has ever made. Mart Kintner & I rode along the road together. Had dinner at a parsonage (D. Martin) Episcopal minister.
