May 14 Sunday
Clear and warm; Issued four days rations but no sales. went to the station. Started to go to Danville but was too late for the car. A special train is to go through at half past eleven tonight and I am going out on it if I can.
May 15 Monday
Clear and warm . Left the Junction at five minutes past twelve this morning on the special train with Genl Wright arrived at danville about six a.m. went to corps Hd Q's. transacted my business and was through buy 12,m. Took dinner at the Hotel. Cost one dollar very poor dinner. Took the 3 p.m. train. Engine, J Witcher[?] rode on the engine up and down. arrived home about one o'clock. The engine C Campbell took us up
