May 6 Saturday
Slept in the depot last night moved about nine o'clock. To the old ninth corps headqr. It is thought that we will lay here some time the 1st Brigade has gone down the Petersburg Railroad our train got in about two p.m. Drew stores and issued. Have two batteries attached to our Div. and I have to issue to them. Genl Wheaton and some of his staff are going to Richmond in the morning. Weather clear and warm Received an order allowing tobacco to be issued. There is all sorts of rumors afloat
