April 16 Sunday
Cloudy and some rain. Received a letter from home Issued four days rations The supply train moved today and Parked between _____________ and the troops All in excitement in regard to the assinnation of the President.
April 17 Monday
Clear and very pleasant. No news of any kind except the presentation of battle flags captured by this corps to Genl Meade. A foraging party went out today but did not meet with much success.
