April 14 Friday
Clear and pleasant. Issued two days rations No news very dull in camp. All kinds of rumors are afloat. We can hear almost anything that we want to. Nearly all of the Generals in this corps are to be here tonight.
April 15 Saturday
Cloudy and showers all day very dull. Had a lively time here last night. The 1st and 2nd Brig. Bands was here, music dancing and whiskey was the order. Tonight news came that President Lincoln, Sec. Seward and son were assinnated in Washington.
