April 12 Wednesday
Cloudy but no rain started at six o'cl ock, passed through Jamestown [?] with colors flying and bands playing and camped three miles from the train The roads are awful.
April 13 Thursday
Cloudy and light rain until ten or eleven this morning. Hard r ain during last night. Started about eight and arrived at Burkeville about three p.m. Camped about three miles east of the Junction at a house occupied by Issued two days rations report says that we are going to stay sometime and fit out for an active campaign.
