April 10 Monday
Cloudy and some rain In camp all day Capt. Fitts came up wit h supply train Issued two days rations. Sales very heavy today Genl Lee's Army is being paroled on the field News that Sherman had whipped Johnston orders to move in the morning
April 11 Tuesday
Cloudy and light rain all day Started about 7 o'cl ock stopped at New Store to issue to the 1st Brigade the roads are almost impassable parked near the covered bridge on the Plank Road seven miles from Jamestown[?]. Am very tired. We are ordered to Burkeville. Rumor says that we are going to Richmond
