June 16th Tuesday
I did not need any rocking to go to sleep last night and stay so untill [sic] late this morning. It has been very warm all day. It is only a half of amile form here to the station and we can hear the cars every hour in the day. We have to go a mile after water Todays paper say that the rebs are in Maryland and it is rumored that little Mac is in command of the army again. Great excitement [illegible] our division passed us about dark. one fellew [sic] in Co D 15th was shot today accidentally. Name is Kelley from laffeyette have just been to the butcher and ordered them to kill and issue fresh meal tonight: it is now 8 PM
