August 29th Saturday Clear but coll and pleasant today my cold is much better. Issued one days rations. No news nor excitement of any kind. In the morning it rained a little
30th Sunday Clear and cool today In the afternoon went out riding in the country about three miles had a very pleasant time. When i got back to camp i received a shirt from home by mail also some collars. there was Eleven six mule teams drawn today for our train, all of the horse teams are to be turned in.
