August 25th Tuesday Cool and very pleasant today. Have been in the United states service just one year today, have two more to stay. Issued one days rations. Issued onions, the fourth regt wagons came back to the train today. Commenced to rain about five Pm. wind blows hard
26th Wensday the wind blows hard all last night, was very cold, high winds all day. quite cold Drew pickled cabbage for an issue. Issued one days ration Wrote a letter to Uncle Samuel Sold whiskey to officers Received a letter from mother the Second regt has a concert in town tonight.
