11th Thursday
Clear and warm today. There was nothing to do untill [sic] about four PM when there was new marching orders. We had to go to the front and issue one days rations. When we got there some of the regiments said that they had no rations and some said that they only had one day. When the [sic] was supposed to have three days. So we had to come back and issue three days more These we gave to the Sergeants and they had to get transportation and issue it them [illegible] Received a letter from Aunt Mary [illegible] five dollars [illegible] it [illegible] got [illegible]. The river is full of the boys swimming.
