June 12th Friday
Clear and very warm today. In the afternoon went to the front and issued one days rations. Saw Edward Simpson there. he came to headquarters and stayed all night with me
13th Saturday
Went out to the front and issued one days rations. Coffee Sugar and Soft Bread the men would not take the pork on our way out – we met Capt. Manning the division Quartermaster who told us that all the trains would move in about fifteen minues. He said that we had better go back to camp but we thought as the trains was so far out that it had better go on. After issuing and making some sales we started back
