August 5th Wensday Clear and pleasant today the 2nd and third regts was paid today. Supply train went to the station and brought up flour dried apples ham molasses whiskey soap and candles & peper Issued one days rations Saw Capt Griggs of the ham- light cavalry. He has just come from home. 6th Thursday Clear and quite warm today This being TanksGiving, business was suspended during church hour which was from ten to twelve M meeting was held in the baptist church in town. the whole brigade attended the fifteenth was paid today issued whiskey in the afternoon Saw Capt Grinton  today the __ light __ about a half mile form here
