23rd July Thursday The brigade moved at four this morning. The supply wagons that was with the brigade went on up to. the pank and soon after we started going on the little river pike and leaving it at reston crossroads. Left restontown in the night. Passed over the same road that we did last fall. Got to White Plains about one oclock. Parked on a little hill about fifty yards from the depot. Issued one day of fresh meat got bread coffee sugar. All along the road today was one complete black berry patch. I never was saw so many in my life. I believe that I saw a thousand bushels.
