22 July Wens day Oredered to move at 4 P.M. went very slow for 9 mile a ways. The roads are very bad in some places. Passed through Union town which is a regular secesh place. There is not one Union family in the whole place. __ night issued one days rations. The supply wagons stopped near the brigade which is near the litble river turnpike and close to a slave house the train is parked about a half a mile ahead. I staid with the supply wagons Issed fresh meat.
