July 21st Tuesday Issued two days rations this morning. Never saw officers sales so very brisk. Ive moved about one mile and parked on a large hill near corps headquarters. Since we left Pecersville the road has been awful. It was almost impassible in some places. This is a good country for forag- ing. The men can be seen in almost any direction carrying sheep and some pieces of beef Hherever the boys find a secesh they burn his stacks and sometimes his buildings.
