Text
July 20th Monday This morning a negro was for burning the ham last night I did not learn how it resulted The owner was a real secesh he said that he would not let any of our men come around his place he would let any of our sick be put in his barn. I think that it was set on fire by some soldier. The hoofs started early in the morning but the train did not start until 11 A.M. Passed through perersville travelled nearly all night on miserable roads did not come more than six miles parked near the brigade and near a large mill to the left of Phillimont saw more and larger blackberries than I ever saw before.
