Clear and very warm. Issued five days rations to the Brigade. Issued Pork Beans rice Sugar Coffee candles Soap Mollasses [sic] Vinegar and Black pepper. The water is not very good therefore we do not use it except for making lemonad [sic] and we have to pay ten cents apeice [sic] for small lemons. today I bought a pair of cotton Socks and paid forty cents for them. thought that it was an awful price one wagon went to falmouth today and brought two barrels of whiskey and two cases of [illegible] vegetable
