having a sharp time the Reb pickets and capturing them our men went on up to[?] the top. about 8 o’clock PM we got orders to move at daylight in the morning. was going to load the wagons tonight but did not

was woke about 4 o’clock AM loaded the wagons and moved about one mile toward the river and parked. About daylight the cannonading commenced and continued very hard. the infantry made charge after charge and about twelve M our
