April 29th Wendsay [sic]
Our Brigade crossed the river this morning Several batteries of Flying artillery went back from the river: wagon trains are going to the front: loaded our train and started out about four PM Went about two miles and parked for the night. Cloudy with light showers all day making the roads quite muddy, and in some places very Bad: we passed by the balloon; Washington After getting everything fixed for the night i took a walk to the Sickles Brigade which lays about half a mile on our right – [illegible] antony Collons and Polk[?] Knox also San[?] Arther[?] Knox Co D 3rd Regt who was wounded lightly in the arm: There is sixteen wagons loaded with commissary stores
