28th Tuesday
Cloudy and wet today ordered to move at three PM About 10 AM, the [illegible] began to go past towards the river from that time untill [sic] after dark the raods and fields was full of Infantry, artillery and cavelry [sic]. this brigade left about four PM. Col Brown in command. Saw some of the supply train drawn[?] by open Capt Fitts got an orderly today. Whisky was issued to the hospitals. business very brisk, supply train went to the landing and brought ham and pork. General Bartlett has pitched his tent for the night near these headquarters. My furlough was signed by Capt Fitts and sent in to headquarters this morning
