Feb 1st 1863 Sunday
Mart was taken sick and got David Padgett to stand in his place. Our chaplain called on us this morning. It is cloudy and looks as if we was going to have a storm. Since this Brigade has been paid the sutlers are doing a heavy business. they are selling butter at 50 c a pound cheese 40 c raisins 50 c &c &c everything Else in proportion In the evening it rained a little the wagons took rations in to their regiment those that are in camp drew three day rations.
