Jan 26th Monday
this morning we went to work and fixed up our tent and built a chimney worked at it all day. the first regiment was paid today. at night went over to see Capt Fitts drew one days rations clear and nice all day I was stiff and sore today from the effects of the march yesterday.
27th Tuesday
No drill to day the second Regt and part of the third was paid off today wrote a letter to mother wrote for a box and one to father. In the afternoon went out after wood and missed dress parade and roll call at retreat
