24th Saturday
about 8 o’clock we was ordered to pack up and be ready to move got started about 10 AM. we marched about a mileacross the fields to a road and rested. heximers battery passed us here going in the direction of white oak church here we filed around and went down towards the river. the mud was about half knee deep. we saw men hauling ponton [sic] wagons through the mud. went down in the woods near where we went yesterday there we rested and got dinner. after dinner we countermarched, going over the road that we went in the morning. halted in an open field.
