Jan 19th Monday
Last night we was ordered to cook three days rations and be ready to march at a moments notice. Expected to go this morning but did not get off was releived [sic] about eight AM after that I put on clean clothes and Mart and I went to the brook and washed our clothes there was bridgade dress parade and drill this morning. IN the afternoon company drill from three untill [sic] half past it was ordered that half the time be devoted to skirmish drill I was not on duty untill [sic] dress parade
