17th Saturday.
Brigade dress parade in the morning. Dress parade in the afternoon. It has been bright clear and very cold today. Traded a pound of coffee for half pound of tobacco at a farm house about half a mile from head quarters Job Woodruff of the 27th was here today
18th Sunday.
Sunday Inspection by Col Campbell. Mart Knitner [sic] and myself was detailed for guard was on the 2nd relief No. 5 and 6 Gus Treche of the 27th came to see me today. at night it was very cold and we did not stand on our beats but went to our tent and sat by the fire.
